Ekman Design Studio

Churchill Traditional
This home was a patchwork of styles, from Colonial to French Country, as a result of previous remodels that left the home lacking a cohesive design. Our intent was to clean up the floor plan and establish a more natural flow to the home while pulling together the additions with the original house. The exterior remained largely unchanged as we opened up the kitchen and breakfast area to the great room and rebuilt a back staircase, exposing the windows and allowing natural light back in to the living spaces. The use of hand-hewn wood beams, decorative wrought iron railings on the staircase and custom milled woodworking for the paneling, base, and trim also added to the New England chic style given to the home.
